Hampton Falls – Peter Pierre Narcisse Miville of Hampton Falls, NH, passed away on Sunday February 16 at home.
Peter was born October 7, 1939 to the late Rene J. and Beatrice Kelley Miville in Methuen, MA.
Educated in the Methuen Public Schools, Peter was the first class to graduate the new Tenney High School in 1957. Entering the U.S. Navy Seabees, stationed at Guantanamo Bay during the Castro uprising, Peter was honorably discharged with RO 3rd class status in 1961. He graduated Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1965, and went into private practice in Emmaus, PA and ultimately Hudson, MA, holding one of the original chiropractic licenses in the state. In 1975, Peter purchased the legendary Methuen Club Building in Methuen Square and singlehandedly transformed it into a regional Scottish style pub and restaurant, receiving many accolades over decades, including that of the Boston Globe, Lowell Sun and myriad local news outlets. Peter was known for driving his ‘tricked out’ Kenworth cab-over around town. He considered priceless his retirement on the farm at Hampton Falls, restoring and collecting vintage cars, and building a nationally acknowledged model train layout. A devout animal lover and classical music aficionado, Peter led a charmed life in retirement.
Peter was predeceased by brothers, René, Charles and sister Marie Hambelton. He leaves two nephews, René (Margaurite) Miville of Captiva Island, FL, and Julien (Michelle) Miville of NYC; along with many other nieces and nephews. He leaves the love of his life, partner in all endeavors, and mainstay of 45 years, Claire Durbrow, and their beloved cats Avery and Teddy.
Peter and Claire are immensely grateful for the tremendous care provided by the dedicated staff at Dana Farber.
