Final Salute

Paul J. Getz, 80, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 19, 1944 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Lukacik) Getz.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Estelle “Dolly” (Walko); daughter, Deborah and Timothy Lasky of The Woodlands, Texas; son, Joseph and Kelly Getz of Katy, Texas, and three grandchildren, Ashley Lasky of New Orleans, Louisiana, Anthony and Alec Lasky of the Woodlands, Texas.

Paul is a 1962 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a Seabee in the Construction Battalion. Following his Navy discharge, Paul was employed with Prudential Insurance for 33 years where he served as a successful insurance agent and then sales manager earning multiple annual conference sales recognition.

Paul thrived off his family time. He was an avid fisherman and hunter most of his life, enjoying the outdoors.

His love of construction carried over from his service years throughout his life as he enjoyed doing remodeling and building projects as well as tinkering with wood crafts leading to a craft business.

Funeral to be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 S.W. State Road 200, Ocala, Florida 34476 on Friday July 18th at 12 p.m.
