Patrick “Pat” D. Lee, 81 years, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Wednesday October 11, 2023. He was born on November 4, 1941.
He received a GED from Kirkman Technical High School and then earned his Associate’s Degree from McKenzie College.
Pat served in the National Guard, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, where he received numerous medals, ribbons and accolades. While serving with the U.S. Navy, as a Navy Seabee, he served in Vietnam as a Navy Seabee and was Honorably Discharged from all three branches. He was a member of the VFW Post 4848 and Past President Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 203, where he remained a member. Pat retired from the USPS as a Letter Carrier with 36 years of service, including his time in the military.
In his earlier years, Pat enjoyed motorcycles, wood working, making gingerbread houses, photography, collecting anything USPS and Navy Seabee related items. He also enjoyed replacing multiple stained glass windows at West Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he attended before succumbing to a stroke in 2006. Pat enjoyed making anything stationary such as photo albums, cards, labels and CDs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, grandmother, Jemay “MawMaw” Cooper, and grandson, Justin Lee.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Sandy (McMichen) Lee; children, Kelley, Dean, Patrick II, Ronald, Michael and Daniel; grandchildren, Cassie, Nicholas, Christian, Maggie, Tara, Christopher, Alex and Dillion; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Denise and Melissa along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Shepherd’s Men or to the American Stroke Association.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life service for Pat will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with Levaughn Flanders and Michael Jump officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
