IMA — Patrick J. Wilson, age 76, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born March 23, 1950, to Margaret (Ann) and Frank E (Mike) Wilson, who preceded him in death.
He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy (Holbein) Wilson, on December 27, 1975, at St Rose Catholic Church. She survives in Lima, having just celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Amanda Burkholder; granddaughters, Chelsea and Sophia Burkholder; sisters Rita Hubbard and Kathy Russell; brothers-in-law Mark (Karen) Holbein, Matt Holbein, Joe Wendel, Steve Wilt; sisters-in-law Paula Holbein, Chris Holbein, Cindy Holbein; numerous nieces and nephews; and Chris Burkholder, father of his granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by brother, Sean Wilson; sisters-in-law Judy Holbein, Jinny Wendel and Sandy Wilt; and brothers-in-law Jack Holbein, Jim Holbein and Steve Holbein.
Pat was a 1968 graduate of Lima Central Catholic. He joined the Navy, where he was a member of the Seabees and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Lima State Hospital/Oakwood Forensic Center, where he was affectionately called Big Daddy. He played and coached a number of softball teams, most recently sponsored by Beer Barrel, in the 80s/90s. He enjoyed listening to music and watching sports, especially those played by his granddaughters.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, 1170 Shawnee Road, Lima. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, prior to the services.
Rev. Lori Wright will officiate.
VFW Post 1275 and active-duty Navy personnel will perform final military honors following the funeral services.

The family requests that those who attend wear something to represent his favorite teams: the Shawnee Indians, the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes,
the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cincinnati Reds.
