Final Salute

Norman R. “Pete” Davis, 91, of Dunkerton, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, under St. Croix Hospice Care at Triopli Nursing and Rehab Center.

Pete was born on May 23, 1933, in Waterloo to Raymond and Ila (Steeman) Davis. He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1951, and he went on to serve in the United States Navy as a SeaBee. Pete owned and operated Davis Sand and Gravel from 1978 until 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Alan, and Larry Davis; daughter, Kathlynn Shumacher; brothers, Leslie, John, and Kolin; granddaughter, Krista Lyn Tiedt, and greatgrandchildren, Sarah Jones, and Logan Tiedt.

Pete is survived by his daughters, Arlene (Mike) Tiedt of Readlyn and Jacquelyn Davis of Globe, AZ; sister, Jill Davis; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Locke Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave, Waterloo.

Private burial will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
