Mr. Norman A. Beaudry

Date of passing 01/08/2026

CASTLETON – Norman A. Beaudry, 97, of Castleton, passed away on January 8, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital, in Troy. Norman was born and raised in Albany, on Colonie St., to his loving parents, Amable and Aldea Cardinal Beaudry. Attended St. Joseph’s School until the fire and finished high school in the city school. After graduation, he went to work for the New York Central Railroad as a Machinist Apprentice in Albany.
Norman enlisted into the Navy on a request from Uncle Sam and became a U.S. Navy Seabee during the Korean war. At that time, he was just married to his first wife, Jane Cambell Beaudry. Norman would tell other service men he met, that he help build the roads they marched on.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he started working for New York Telephone Company as a lineman, climbing poles, working his way up to a repairman, supervisor and retiring after 30 years as an engineer.
Norman was a caregiver taking care of his first wife, Jane (Alzheimer’s) for 25 years. He was a volunteer for Albany P.A.L. Toys program (Fixing), fixed talking books, making breakfast for the staff and residents at Barnwell Nursing Home monthly, going to a different floors each month for years. He was also a active member of the volunteer organization New York Telephone Pioneers while employed and into his retiring years. Norman was also a volunteer for the South Schodack Fire Department and was once the president of the unit.
Later on in life, Norman met and married his second wife, Sallyann Purcell-Beaudry. They had a wonderful 17 1 /2 years together in marriage. Norman was not only a wonderful caregiver, he was a quiet giant with a terrific sense of humor, a peacemaker, he was a kind soul always considerate and the most loving husband, father and grandfather – a family man. He was respected by and loved by everyone who knew him. His passion was golf and he was a diehard Yankee and Giant fan
I, Sallyann, being his wife for such a short time, feel honored for having him into my life. I was so blessed by his presence.
Norman was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Jeannine and husband, Fenton Robbins; and his brother, Ronald Beaudry. Leaving behind in sadness is his wife, Sallyann; daughter, Danette (Frank) Moore; his son, Gregory (Donna) Beaudry; his grandsons, Tyler Beaudry of Chatham, Christopher, Michael and Aaron Lingenfelter of Ohio; his great-grandson, Liam Lingenfelter; and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Lingenfelter.
We already miss him! May God keep him in his arms.
