Kyriacos, Neocles, 92, of Oakland Park, passed away on August 22 due to complications resulting from a heart attack. Mr. Kyriacos was born in Kiti, Cyprus on November 10, 1918 and immigrated to America at the age of 12. He attended school in New York City, while working his way up in the restaurant business. He became a naturalized citizen in 1942 and served with the Seabees in the Pacific Theater during World War II. For nearly 30 years he was co-owner of The New Jersey Restaurant in Hoboken, NJ. Subsequently, he was manager of the Montgomery Ward cafeteria in East Rutherford, NJ. Before retiring, he and his wife Helen managed the golf course concession stand at the White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, NJ for more than 7 years. In 1996, the Kyriacoses relocated to Broward County. Mr. Kyriacos leaves behind a number of beloved family members and friends on three continents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 2 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Kyriacos will be interred at Garden of Memories, mausoleum in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donations to Feeding America (America’s Second Harvest) or Homes for our Troops.
