Michael Lee Dowell Jr., 42, unexpectedly passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at 8:00pm. Michael was born June 23, 1982, to Lyrray Pierce and Michael Dowell Sr. in Terre Haute, Indiana. Michael graduated from Terre Haute North, where he played football, and after graduation went off to the Navy where he was a Seabee! Michael enjoyed being outside, working on his car and trucks, he loved to have cookouts, and have his family around. Michael loves to work with his hands, anything he could build for his wife he would! Michael was in the Carpenters Union Local 133. Michael, his wife, and children recently were baptized and became members of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. Michael was an amazing husband, father, and person all around. He could light up a room just by walking in and smiling.
Michael leaves behind his wife Nichole Dowell, who is the love of his life, best friend, and his person. His five children Harley Dowell, Hayden Buchanan, Jake Buchanan, Ava Dowell and Aubree Stanford; his sister Rustie Lynn Mills;  his fur babies; brother in law James Lofland, Kendall Lofland; nephews Kohen and Kase; sister in law Alexa Scott, JT Tarwater; nephews Carter and Ayden. Michael is deeply missed by his entire family.  Michael was proceeded in death by his mother, father, sister, grandfather, and his brother.  Memorial services are scheduled on May 28, 2025, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Pastor Rick Swan will officiate.  Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. until service time. If friends and family so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Team of Mercy. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, or donations may be sent to P.O. Box 3321, Terre Haute, IN, United States, Indiana.
