Date of passing 09/01/2024

Max A. Parr, 59, Alexandria, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis following a very brief illness.

Max was born on Aug. 8, 1965, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Gerald Max and Norma Jean (Stanley) Peterson. He was a graduate of Jay County High School, Class of 1983.

Max served in the United States Navy in the Seabees. He has owned and operated Parr’s Enterprises in Alexandria since 1990.

Max enjoyed working in his garage, motorcycling, go-karting and four-wheeling. Basically, if it had an engine, Max was interested. A high point in Max’s life was getting to race with his son in the ATV Motocross National racing circuit all across the country.

Alexandria has lost not only a skilled craftsman, but also a friend of the community. Max was a giver, and many friends and family have been the benefactors of his caring, kindness and generosity. Max’s genuine giving nature will continue to those who benefitted from his being an organ donor.
