Mr. Lynn Allen Draper

Lynn Allen Draper, 74, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, after a long illness with his wife by his side.
Lynn was born in Marion, Indiana on April 16, 1947, son of the late Charles E. and Ada (Druck) Draper. He was a 1965 graduate of Fairmount High School. Lynn served in Vietnam in the United States Navy where he was a Seabee. He retired from Delco in Anderson in 2001 after 30 years working in general assembly.
Lynn loved restoring classic cars and competing nationally in car shows with his 61 Chevy 409 Impala. He was a faithful photographer at the car shows and won many awards for his custom paint and body work, often winning Best in Show or other honors. He completed the Street Rodder’s Road Tour in California. In 2019 he completed the Hot Rod Power Tour with his son Rod and grandson Sean. He attended Fairmount Friends Church and was a member of the Fairmount American Legion. He married Sandra K. Rowland on June 23, 2007.
Lynn is survived by his wife Sandra; children, Andrea (Zach) Donahue, of Durham, North Carolina, Rod (Megan) Draper, of Noblesville, Melissa Shoemake, of Fishers, and Stacy (Jeff) Emelander, of Coopersville, Michigan; sister, Linda (David “Doc”) Davis, of Albany; grandchildren Harry, Alex Durm, Sean, and Lauren Donahue; Jacob (Morgan) Alexis, Dylan Emelander, Alayna and Irelyn, and Cru Shoemake; brother-in-law, Joe Graczyk; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A graveside service celebrating Lynn’s life will be at Marion National Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating.
