Lover Light age 86 of Kingsport died on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Brookhaven Manor following an extended illness.He had been a resident of Kingsport most of his life. Mr. Light served in the US Navy during WWII with the Seabees Naval Construction Battalion and was assigned to the USS Sabine, an oil tanker, during the Korean War. He retired from Tennessee Eastman Company and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Light was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church in Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend and Mrs. Loyd Light, brother, J.E. Light, sisters, Ruth Byford and Tot Surgenor. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ethel Wilcox Light of Kingsport, daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Monte and Marlene Phillips of Kingsport, son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. and Patricia Light of Washburn, TN, sister, Mrs. Juanita Wilson of Kingsport, grandchildren, Brian Fleenor of Hunnington Beach, CA and Sheldon Maguire of Richmond, VA; two great-grandchildren, Haley Maguire and Spencer Fleenor, four step-grandchildren, Oscar Phillips of Greensboro, NC, Suzanne Trendel of Charlottesville, VA, Karl Phillips of Honolulu, HI, John Phillips of Wilmington, NC; three step-great-grandchildren, Oscar, Carson, and Sam Phillips, also several nieces and nephews.
