Louis A. Bruno age 95 and a resident of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.Louis was born in Lorain on February 24, 1927 to his loving parents Thomas and Christina (nee Coia) Bruno. He attended Lorain High School. In 1945 Louis entered the United States Navy. Ne was a Navy Seabee in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. Louis sailed the Great Lakes on the Roger Farr, 1947-1948. Upon returning home, he went to work for Lorain Fairport Dock Company and was employed their for 32 years. Louis married Martha (nee Watson) Bruno on August 1, 1957 and they started their lives together raising two daughters Lisa and Denise.Louie was known as the music man for his harmonica talent, was a genuine paisan and a happy kind-hearted man who made everyone feel special. He was an inspiration to everyone he touched. His family will deeply miss him.He was a lifetime member of the Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter where he served as an altar server for 14 years. Also as a church member, Louis served as an elected council member and enjoyed helping at the annual church festivals for 12 years. He was a lifetime member of the Italian American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, NAVRE, and the Knight of Columbus.Survivors include his daughters Lisa and Denise Bruno, both of Amherst and foster daughter Cydnie Barrientos.Louis was preceded in death by his wife Martha Bruno, parents Thomas and Christina Bruno, brothers Jacob, Domonic, and John Bruno, and sisters Elvira Marlow and Anna Solak.Louie’s daughters would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Medical Care, Amherst for all their support for the last four years and four months of his life. Thanks also to the Hospice of The Western Reserve for all their care and concern.Louis was interred at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain with his beloved wife Martha.In Louie’s honor, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation,30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.Arrangements entrusted to the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
