Lon Dewey Hoggard, 98, of Cave City passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 in Batesville. He was born August 27, 1926 in Calamine to Orville and Estella (McLeod) Hoggard. He was a mechanic. L.D. loved to work on cars and entertain family and friends with stories of his life. He was a veteran of WWII and served his country honorably as a Seabee. He loved his life and loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife, Vera Hoggard, children, Pamela Cooper, Lon Danny Hoggard, young daughter, Linda Hoggard, stepson, Gary Farmer, and great grandson, Ethan Goad, four brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Tim Hoggard (Sonia) of Bradenton, FL; one stepson, Larry Farmer (Rosa) of Batesville; two daughter in laws, Ann Farmer of Cave City and Cathy Hoggard of Perry, FL; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Hoggard (Kyli), Kevin Hoggard (Jessica), Gary Farmer, Jr., Lena Owens, LeAnne Kelpine, Michelle Furches, and Kim Broome; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 21, 2024, 2:00 p.m. with Kenny Townsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery.
Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hoggard, Kevin Hoggard, Gary Farmer, Jr., Tanner Goad, Joshua Kelpine and Colton Durham.
