Leslie Max Hubbard, 78, of Napoleon Michigan passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Michigan Center Eagles Post #3634 302 5th St. Michigan Center Michigan.
He was born on November 10, 1945, in Jackson, Michigan to Dalen and Loretta (Blakely) Hubbard. Leslie proudly served his country in the United States Navy Seabees and when he returned home, he married the love of his life, Sandra (Rice), on February 17, 1968, in Clark Lake, Michigan. They enjoyed fifty-one wonderful years together until her passing in 2019. He was a member of VFW Post #435, where he served as past commander. He will be remembered as a “Jack of all trades, Master of none” by his family and friends, often finding him “tinkering” on projects in his garage. He loved to fish, go to tractor pulls, help his family with anything they needed, including gathering family to join the “wood cutting bees” to help grandma have wood for the winter. He also enjoyed watching his grandson, Dominic, compete in 4H with his horse. Leslie was known for his witty sense of humor and being quite the jokester, but most of all he loved his family fiercely. The family would like to express their gratitude to Stacey, his “visiting angel” and Elara Caring Hospice.
Leslie will be missed by his daughter, Michelle England, son Buddy (Kathy) Hubbard; sister, Alice (Wayne) Cornish of Homer; grandchildren Eugene, Crystal, Stephanie, Dominic (Rachel), Margaret England; great grandchildren, Shy, Lucas, Jordan, Brianna, Jamison, Aurora, Dakota, Colton, and Michael; great – grandchildren, Violet and Nova and close family friend, Denny Fish. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dalen and Loretta, his wife Sandra and brother, Wayne Hubbard.
