Date of passing 10/23/2025

Leighton “Lee” F. Peck Jr., 79, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, after a brief battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in New Bedford, MA, on April 7, 1946, he was the devoted husband of the late Pamela L. Peck (Sethares).

Lee graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with an associate degree in civil and highway engineering and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in civil technology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. His long and accomplished career in public service included roles as Superintendent of Public Works for the towns of Carver and Middleborough, and later as Director of Public Works for the Town of Plymouth from 1986 to 2003, before continuing his work as a consultant. Deeply dedicated to his profession, he was active in numerous public works associations and proudly served as past president of both the Plymouth County Highway Association and the Massachusetts Highway Association.

A proud Navy veteran, Lee served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 as a heavy equipment operator with the Fighting Seabees, where he earned the nickname “Lee.”

Outside of work, Lee found joy in golf, enjoying antique cars, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Poppi.” He especially loved cheering them on at their many sporting events.

Lee is survived by his children, Christopher P. Peck and wife Allison of Rochester, MA; Sarah K. Foley and husband Wayne of Rochester, MA; and Jeremy L. Peck of Fairhaven, MA. He was a proud grandfather to Kaitlin Peck, Nathan Peck, Andrew Foley, Connor Foley, Avery Peck, and Joshua Peck. He also leaves behind his siblings, William Peck of Falmouth, MA; John Peck of Warren, NH; and Alison Gamon of Bristol, RI. He was predeceased by his parents, Leighton F. Peck Sr. and Myrtle Kay Peck, and his siblings, Patricia Cone, Russell Peck, and Carole Barry.
