Lee Carl Hayes, 70, of Rigby, ID, passed away on July 29, 2023. He was born on July 6, 1953, in Warren, OH, to the late Addison and Shirley (Keffer) Hayes. Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandia, who passed away in 2011.
Lee is survived by his sister, Cindy Reagan (Troy); his brother, Bruce Hayes (Traci); his sons, Rick McCauley (Aairona), Scott McCauley, and Eric McCauley (Jodi); as well as five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Lee attended Westminster High School in Westminster, CO, and later pursued higher education at Red Rocks Community College in Golden, CO.
Lee proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a member of the Seabee Division for six years, demonstrating his dedication to his country.
Lee embarked on a successful career as a Diesel Engine Mechanic and held various service-related positions. Additionally, he excelled in industrial engine sales, showcasing his expertise.
Beyond his professional achievements, Lee had a passion for cars and trucks. He enjoyed building, racing, and car shows, indulging in his love for automotive craftsmanship. This hobby brought him joy and allowed him to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
A small gathering of family and close friends is planned for late August to honor Lee’s memory and celebrate his life. His legacy as a devoted family member, military veteran, and skilled mechanic will forever be cherished.
