Final Salute

Lawrence W. Martin, Sr., 99, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025 at Cypress Creek Assisted Living in Florida. He was born on April 25, 1925 in Staten Island, NY and lived most of his life in Meiers Corners until he relocated to Sun City Center Florida.

He served his country for 7 years, in the United States Navy. For 5 of those years he was a Navy Seabee, who supported the Marine Corps during World War II, in the South Pacific. He worked for the City of New York at the Water Department, the Riviera Chateau as a chef and at his son John’s business, JM’s Stained Glass Studio in Port Richmond.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lena P. Martin, who passed in 2013 and son, Lawrence W. Martin, Jr., who passed in 1993.

Lawrence is survived by his son, John L. Martin and his daughter and Melanie Agnello. He is also survived, his eight beloved grandchildren, John W. (Michele) Martin, David (Brenda) Martin, Dawn (Andrew) Elio, Lawrence “Sonny” Martin, Charles (Katie) Agnello, Christopher Agnello, Nicole Martin and Michele Martin, who bought immense joy to his life. He will be deeply missed by his great grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Dylan, Angelina, Jax, Isabel, Seth and Luca.
