On Monday, October 31st, 2022, Lawrence Anthony Olejniczak, a beloved husband and father, passed away at age 90. Larry was born in Milwaukee to Walter and Rose Olejniczak on March 24th, 1932. He was one of three children with his older brother
Walter and his younger sister Theresa Webster. Larry spent most of his childhood in Milwaukee and then on his family’s dairy farm in Gilman, Wisconsin. Larry graduated from Hannibal High School and then served proudly in the Navy for two terms as a
SeaBee in the Philippines, building an airstrip in Subic Bay.
Lawrence eventually settled back in Milwaukee, where he met his wife Darlene. They married nine months later and were together for 64 years. Together they raised four children: Jane Schneider (James), Andrew (Shelly), Alan (David Bourne), and James (Wendy). Larry worked several jobs throughout his life but worked 35 years for Brinks Incorporated. After retirement, Larry and Darlene eventually retired to Lake City, FL, and then to Sun City West, AZ.
A devout Catholic, Larry volunteered at church and a prison ministry and often helped backstage with a theater troupe with his wife Darlene. He enjoyed road trips, cruises, card games, and puzzles.
Larry is survived by his three granddaughters: Isabella, Olivia, and Jaydee. He enjoyed his role as “Poppey ” and caring for Jaydee’s little dog, Copper.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church. 1441 W. Oakwood Rd., Oak Creek, WI 53154,
Saturday, November 12th, 2022, at 10 AM. The family will be receiving guests at the church from 8:00 to 10:00 AM
