Final Salute

OLATON — Larry Dennis Whitely, 78, of Olaton, KY, died Feb. 12, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on Dec. 25, 1946 in Olaton. He was married to the love of his life, Patricia Faye Whitely, for 57 years before his passing.
Larry was a proud Navy Veteran, serving as a Seabee for two, nine month tours in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971. He was a godly man and served as a deacon at Olaton Baptist Church for 37 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Faye Whitely; daughter, Angie (Bob) Vance; son, Shawn Whitely; daughter-in-law, Dana (Terry) Baggarly; grandchildren, Brent (Gwen) Vance, Lukas (Lainey) Whitely, Logan (Shelby) Whitely, Adam Vance, Rhett (Morgan) Baggarly, Logan Baggarly; great-grandchildren, Evie & Bear Vance, Lane & Larson Whitely, Hudson & Hadlee Baggarly, Addi Jones & Izzy Thompson; one sister, Brenda (Butch) Ford.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Nathan Bunch and Bro. Butch Ford officiating. Burial will be in McGrady Creek Cemetery in Olaton, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until funeral time on Monday at the funeral home.
