Mr. Kenneth Thomas Fuchs

Ken was born in Belleville, Illinois, to Emil and Ethel Fuchs. Ken served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy and fought for his country in the Vietnam war for 26 1/2 months. A true patriot who loved his country, and his band of brothers. Ken then worked as an electrician with Local 309 for 30 years. Ken was a loving parent, grandparent and great-grandparent who loved helping others and spending time with his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Billie; his sons: Alfred (Terri) Dunaway, David (Kim) Dunaway, Shawn Fuchs and Adam Fuchs; grandchildren: Lara (AJ)Beers, Julia (Chris Wiley) Dunaway, Kyle Dunaway and Connor (Hailee O’Dell) Dunaway; great-grandchildren: Levi, Weston and Corinne Beers, Calliope Wiley and baby Dunaway arriving this fall.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ethel Fuchs; and his brother Robert.

Ken will be laid to rest with a graveside service with military honors at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 on the 27th of April 2026 beginning at 12:30PM.

In April 2024, Ken and his son Alfred had the honor of traveling to Washington DC on the Southwest Florida Honor Flight. It was an experience they both cherished. Therefore, if desired, friends and family may donate to the Southwest Florida Honor Flight, P.O. Box 495065, Port Charlotte, FL 33949.
