Mr. Kenneth Edwin Pierron

Date of birth 06/07/1929
Date of passing 10/19/2022

Kenneth Edwin Pierron reached the ripe age of 93 before being called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, from his Pisgah Forest residence where he lived with family.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis. June 7, 1929, shortly before the onset of the Great Depression. His parents were Alfred and Anna Pierron. He was the youngest of two sons. Much of his childhood memories included seeing newsreels or listening to reports of World War II. His older brother, Allen, served in the Marine Corps during the war. After high school, in 1948, he joined the National Guard and then the United States Navy, where he worked in the Construction Battalion learning how to design buildings and do general contracting. One of his duty stations was Yokosuka, Japan, where coincidentally, his own son would be assigned some 40 years later while serving on the aircraft carrier USS Independence. He was honorably discharged following the Korean War and returned home to Milwaukee where he used his background in design to start his own business, designing and building custom residential homes. At a local dance, he fell head over heels for a beautiful young lady named Marilyn (Lynn) Erck. They were a striking match and three months later they married Dec. 1, 1956. It was a union that would thrive over the next 66 years seeing the birth of three children, Victor, Lauren and Grant.

He was truly devoted to his wife and a loving father, sharing his passion for sports, gardening and travel. Yearly car trips took them to 46 of the 48 continental states. Later, they relished overseas travel to Europe and Asia where they would visit their wayward children and perhaps take in a game of tennis at Wimbleton. Another favorite destination became the sunny Florida Gulf Coast and upon retirement, they wasted no time escaping the Wisconsin winters and moved to Nokomis, Fla., where they enjoyed tennis and long walks down the sandy beaches over the next 36 years.

They came to live with their son, Grant and his family in Pisgah Forest a little over one year ago. He continued to enjoy the outdoors, creating beautiful gardens and helping wherever he could. A favorite activity was his weekly visits to the library to pick out DVDs and a stop by Food Lion. Thankfully, everyone was so gracious to him.

His wife preceded him in death March 29, 2022. They were truly a match made in heaven and it makes my heart pleased to know it is there where they are reunited again.

He is survived by his three children; daughter-in-law, Trudy; and his four grandsons, Ian, Nathan, Wesley and Landon Pierron.
