Joshua Claye Tobar was born on March 4th, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, to his parents Adam Lisewski and Angie Tobar. His faith was made sight on August 8th, 2025, with his loving wife, Whitney, by his side. Joshua served in the Navy Seabees from 2008-2012. His tours of duty included one in Iraq, two in Afghanistan, one in Haiti, and one in Central America.
He was the standard of strength and physical training; a prime example for his Navy companions in his battalion NMCB7. An entrepreneur, innovator and diligent worker, he served his friends and family with acts of love and service rather than with soft and empty words. He was a gifted tattoo artist, lover of cars, motorcycles and guns.
He was deeply dedicated to the love of his life: Whitney Tobar. Josh and Whitney would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this coming December. Joshua’s eternal devotion belonged to the Lord, Jesus Christ, who became his Savior and friend in his time of greatest need. Josh took the gospel by the horns and lived out his faith with a veracity that most never attain, being attested to by selfless acts of love, service, and sacrificial giving. Joshua devoured the Word of God like one famished for Truth who found a banquet in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Lisewski. He is survived by his wife, Whitney Tobar, his mother Angie Tobar, his grandmother, Mary Theresa Barrera, his grandfather Salvador Tobar, his mother-in-law Anita West, and extended family.
