Final Salute

Joseph was born in Phoenix to Joe & Dora Simmons. He grew up in Phoenix and attended West High School graduating in 1958. He met Sandra Muir and they married February 23rd, 1962. Joe served in the Navy as a Seabee from 1964-1966. He began his career at the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office in 1968 and retired as a Lieutenant in 1988. Joe started his own traffic investigation business after retirement. Joe spent many hours riding trails all over Arizona on the back of his trusted mule Jeremiah. He was member of the Arizona Lodge #2 F&AM, El Zaribah Shrine, American Legion, VFW, Arizona National Livestock Show, Elks USA and University Presbyterian Church. Joe leaves behind his loving wife of almost 63 years, Sandra and many other family members whom he loved dearly. Internment of ashes will be at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
