Joseph John Williams died unexpectedly in Glen Ellyn, IL on Jan 5, 2025.
Joe was born to Roy and Marion (Walsh) on August 4, 1949, in Chicago, IL. He was a man of many skills, always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends.
Joe graduated from Addison Trail High School in 1969 and went on to join the Navy and was a Seabee grade E3 serving with honor from 1969 to 1973. Joe married his love Linda Williams on November 18, 1972. After the service Joe had many accomplishments. Throughout his years he held Electrical License-for the State of Illinois, -License Welder and Fabricator, Heavy Equipment Operator—also a -Paid on Call Fire fighter for 19 years for the City of Elmhurst.
Joe and Linda settled in Elmhurst and in their 52 years together raised 2 sons, Jon and Nicholas. Joe was always there for his boys guiding them into the strong and loyal men they are today. He was a fiercely protective and proud father and grandfather.
He was a 4th degree Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus 9893, an assistant Boy Scout Leader for 3 years, and an active member at the Bloomingdale VFW 7539
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marion, brother-in-law Hubert Minard. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Johnston); sons Jon Williams, Nicholas (Laura Schwass) Williams; grandchildren, Logan and Haprer Williams; sisters Pam (Joe) Kabelis, Marylou Minard, and Nancy Williams. Sister-in-law Christine Wagner (Joseph) Step Mother Betty Williams, and Step Sister Bonnie Brumn.

Visitation Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst, IL.
Additional visitation will be on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1555 Glen Ellyn Rd., Glendale Hts., IL (All to meet at Church)
Interment with Military Funeral Honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL (Please meet at the cemetery)
