Final Salute

Joseph Eugene Lindsey, 68, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on March 22nd, 2024.

Joe, known affectionately as “Papaw Ponytail” to his loved ones, was a fiercely loyal, charitable, charismatic and oftentimes stubborn man. He was wise, witty and always ready with a smart a** comeback. He was a veteran Seabee with the US Navy and a proud union electrician who traveled the country as a member of the IBEW Local 934. He enjoyed watching westerns & wrestling, taking care of his cats, growing plants and spending time with his family.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty Louise “Granny” and Eugene Pressley “Pete” Lindsey. He is survived by his daughter, Autumn and son-in-law, Gregg Wood of Greer, former son-in-law, Stephen Stephenson of Arden, and three granddaughters, Summer, Wynter, and Zoespring Stephenson of Arden. He was a wonderful father and grandfather! He was loved greatly and will be missed tremendously.
