A graveside service for Mr. Joseph Earl Bailey, 97 of Oxford, will be on Friday, October 8, 2021at 1:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church in Bynum with Chaplin Jeff Steward officiating.
Mr. Bailey passed away on October 3, 2021.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Walker Bailey, Jennifer Lynn Bailey, Leslie Darren Cummings, Jessica Kee Cummings, Alicia Doss, Robin Whistenant, and Bill and Danielle Dobilas; great grandchildren, Ethan Gage Bailey, Gabrielle Reese Bailey, Bailey Kee Cummings, Kaylee Lynn Cummings, Hannah Dobilas, and a several extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Sue Bailey, and his children, Kurtis Earl Bailey, Bradley Steven Bailey, and Diane Kriecher.
Mr. Bailey was born in Logan County, West Virginia. He cut roads from Mt. Cheaha to Oregon doing infrastructure under Roosevelt. Mr. Bailey joined the US Navy in 1942 when Pearl Harbor was bombed. He became a special forces Seabee. Mr. Bailey retired from the Anniston Army Depot as a machinist.
Mr. Bailey was a loving and caring family man and was a model Christian. He will be well missed by his friends and family.
