Jose (Joe) Flores, 76, of Findlay, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born April 14, 1946, in San Benito, Texas, to the late Marcos and Maria (Reyes) Flores. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, proudly serving his country from 1967-1969 and served in Vietnam. Joe was a member of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133, also known as the SeaBees.

Joe married Gloria Martinez on Dec. 5, 1970, and she survives, along with a son, Steven (Tammie) Flores of Findlay; daughter, Stephanie (David Peterson) Flores of Findlay; four grandchildren, Quinten Flores, Jenna Flores, Brayden Flores, and Deacon Flores Holbrook; and four sisters, Esperanza Maldonado of Findlay, Mary (Joe) Lugo of Ottawa, Ohio, Ramona Pedraza of Hamler, and Rosa (Nick) Amador of Ottawa, Ohio. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Flores.

Joe retired from Philips Electronics in Ottawa. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and D.A.V. Buddy Chapter # 43, both of Findlay. He loved camping, tejano music, dancing, and watching boxing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Joe was also an avid fan of Pittsburgh Steelers.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m. Thursday followed by a time of family sharing.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 617 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery with military rites by Hancock Veterans Memorial Squad.
