WATERTOWN- Mr. John Zigadto, 84 of Watertown, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of MaryAnn (Mailhot) Zigadto.
John was born in Waterbury January 14, 1941, son of the late John and Angelina (Jacovino) Zigadto. He worked as a plumber at Heritage Village until his retirement.
John graduated from Kaynor Tech High School in Waterbury and then joined the Navy Seabees. He met his wife at Home Plate Restaurant in Watertown. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, doing Sudoku puzzles, playing cards, traveling and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, John leaves a sister Lucille Carlozzi of Waterbury; a son Steven Zigadto and his wife Catherine of Wolcott; a daughter Janet Zigadto of Waterbury; a step son Timothy Descoteaux and his wife Melissa of Lakeside; 6 grandchildren: Vanessa and Joshua Descoteaux, Sarah and Megan Zigadto, Adrienne Rinaldi and her husband Anthony, and Greg Blum; 2 nephews Henry Carlozzi and his wife Kathy of NY, and Thomas Carlozzi and his wife Louise of Waterbury; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Leo Mangini of Watertown.
John’s family would like to thank Apple Rehab in Watertown for all their help and support over the last 4 years.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St, Watertown. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. No calling hours will be held. Friends are asked to meet directly at church Monday morning. Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St, Watertown, has been entrusted with handling the funeral arrangements for John.
