Date of passing 01/30/2026

Jerald Scott Buckles, 61, of Marion, passed away at 1:38 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on January 25, 1965, to Jerry and Nancy (Metcalf) Buckles.

Scott graduated from Oak Hill High School and went on to bravely serve his country in the United States Navy as a proud Seabee. Following his military service, he worked for Chrysler for 20 years before working as a dedicated truck driver for First Fleet. Jerald was known for his unwavering dependability, strong work ethic, and the deep love he carried for his family.

He enjoyed the simple joys of life–fishing on a quiet day, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts, and spending hours with his RC cars and airplanes. His loyal dog, Ozzy, was never far from his side. Above all, Scott cherished his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He was a great dad, a good brother, a devoted uncle, and someone who would do anything for the people he loved. Providing for his family was his life’s mission, and he did so with determination and heart.

Scott is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” Buckles of Marion; his sons, Jerald Scott (Stephanie) Buckles Jr. of Jonesboro and Chavis (Emily) Little of Marion; his daughter, Kelsy (Davon) Johnson of Marion; and his grandchildren, Braedon Dailey, Kylie Buckles, Tristan Buckles, Cadian Little, Braycien Little, Oliver Little, D’ella Colbert, and Davon Johnson II. He is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl (Mark) Westcott of Marion, Joy Ramsey of Marion, and Lisa (Darrin) Knotts of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Buckles; and nephews Bradley and Joshua Ramsey.

A service to celebrate Scott’s life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 beginning at 12:30 pm at Marion National Cemetery – Protestant Chapel with Pastor Bob Engle officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
