Jason Ray Manning AKA Petey Muggin, Gordy Norman, J, Manning, was born on April 25, 1980, to Vicki Lynn Manning and Billy Ray Manning and was the proud “Girl Dad” to Presley Lynn Manning and “Dog Dad” to Luna. Besides his parents and daughter, Jason is survived by his KK and his crew of siblings, William Conner; Billy Ray Manning Jr.; Lisa Manning Ort (Rickey); Glenda Luman (Jeremy); Molly Manning Carter (Chris); Madison Manning.
Jason enlisted into the United States Navy during high school. After graduating from Scott High School, he went on to serve as a United States Navy SeaBee. And even though he has struggled with the aftermath of his “dream” career, he was very proud to have served. Jason was a jack of all trades and loved being able to experience things in life that some folks only dream of. His passport was full and so was his heart. Jason had the incredible ability to tell the best stories at the perfect moment. He had so many talents. He could go from rapping free style to country slang at the drop of a dime. He enjoyed many things in life, cold cokes, Jägermeister, and his mom’s ribs. He despised hamburger helper and mice. But his greatest enjoyment in life was being Dad to his daughter Presley.
Jason has several aunts and uncles, tons of cousins, and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Wanda & Russell Manning and Carol & James Donald Rice.
He loved his family and friends and cherished each one. Jason was the kindest and most giving person and never met a stranger.
He recently was trying to comfort a friend with these words of encouragement; “Have you ever given it a thought, that just maybe the ones who pass on early are the lucky ones.”
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023, starting at 5:00 p.m. with military honors at 5:30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 3227 Dixie Highway in Erlanger, Kentucky.
