Mr. Jareld Leroy Mervau

Jareld Leroy Mervau (Jerry), age 86, of Greenville, MI, went home to his lord and savior, peacefully surrounded by his family on April 03, 2025. He was a son to Leroy and Marjorie (Muma) Mervau.  He was born the oldest of 3 children at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He grew up in Bailey, Michigan, helping at his parents general store.  He’s a graduate of Grant high school and Ferris State University, with a degree in Engineering. He was also a United States Navy Seabee veteran.  He loved anything to do with designing and building.  He worked 29 years at General Motors, as lead drafting engineer, and has a retirement plaque stating not one sick or late day in all those years.  He was extremely giving with his time and advice and would jump in to help anyone in need. He spent his time between his residences in Michigan and Florida.  He always had a hot cup of coffee on for all visitors as he loved to entertain….loved to chat… He absolutely loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Coralie (Murray) Mervau; his children, Lorraine Dines, Jeff Mervau,  and Joel (Dawn) Mervau; grandchildren, Kyle (Danielle) Mervau, Paige Dines (Adam Noyes), Matt (Melanie) Mervau, Austin (Alissa) Dines, Bryce Mervau; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Margaret Dines; brothers, Terry (Kathy) Mervau and Brian (Elaine) Mervau and several nieces and nephews.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:00-7:00pm at North Ridge Funeral Home, 88 E Division St. Sparta, MI 49345, and on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral ceremony at 11:00am at the funeral home.  A luncheon will follow at Sparta Civic Center, 75 N Union St, Sparta, MI  49345.

Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 3940 Peninsular Dr SE, Ste 180, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49546.
