James Pete Dugan Obituary

James Pete Dugan, 89, of 119 Shirmadon Drive, husband of Marilyn J. Schmuhl Dugan, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late James and Sema Acker Dugan.

He owned and operated Dugan Photography for 25 years and actively supported school and church organizations in his profession as a photographer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, 75 CB’s Unit.

He had been a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church for 77 years. He was a Mason, and had served as a clown in the Hejaz Unit. He was a charter member of the Honea Path Lions Club and served for 42 years as President of the Jennie Erwin Library. He was a former member of the Honea Path Town Council and formerly owned and operated the Lyric Theater of Honea Path.

Surviving are his wife of the home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Garden of Memories, with the Revs. Mike Moody and Fran Elrod officiating.

The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home.
