James P. Sullivan, 81, of Berlin, MD, passed away on November 2, 2024.
Jim was born on October 2, 1943 in Wilmington, DE to James P. Sullivan and Elizabeth Manley Sullivan. Upon graduation from John Dickinson High School and Brown Technical School, Jim started his career with Plumbers Local 26. He also proudly served his country in the US Navy Seabee battalion during the Vietnam War.
Jim is survived by his sons, Matt Sullivan (Dawn) and Brett Sullivan (Cherisse); his grandchildren, Arden, Peyton, Grant, Reid, and Maeve; his former wife, Marjorie McBride; and several members of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Givens; and his brother, Thomas Sullivan.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family suggests making a donation in his name to the Delaware Center for Homeless Veterans, 1200 N Walnut St, Wilmington, DE 19801.
