Mr. James E. DeVarennes, 62, of Lee, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Born January 27, 1961, in Pittsfield, MA, the son of the late John and Rita Belliveau DeVarennes, he was one of nine children.
Jim was educated in Lee and upon graduation from Lee High School served for six years in the Seabees, the U.S. Navy’s Construction Force. Once discharged he would spend the next 40 years building homes in the Berkshires.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his son, Jed Peter DeVarennes; his brother, Michael, and his wife, Kathleen; his sisters, Mary Rossi; Jean Brighenti and her husband, James; Theresa Collins and her husband, Terrence; Norene Malumphy and her husband Robert; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and three of his siblings: Ann, John, and Susan.
Services with full military honors will be held graveside at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Berkshire Humane Society, in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
