Final Salute

Reed, James Daniel CLIFTON PARK James Daniel Reed, 57, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, with his loving family by his side. James was the son of William Reed and the late Joann (Maselli) Reed. James was the devoted husband to Linda (Havrish) Reed; they were married for 34 years. As a proud Navy Seabee veteran, Jim served his country attached to NMCB7 in Gulfport, Miss., serving duty in Guam and Greece and receiving several letters of appreciation for his outstanding performance of duties. He attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed at Momentive Inc. and the former G.E. Silicones in Waterford as a shift chemical control operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing with his grandkids and also doing his hobby woodworking projects. Jim and his wife, Linda especially enjoyed their many annual Caribbean Cruises throughout their time together. Together they also enjoyed eating out at their favorite restaurants regularly and enjoyed many camping adventures. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his sons, Robert and Nicholas; his daughter, Jessica (Troy) Clay of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Gin and Riley. He is also survived by his three awesome brothers, David, Nicholas and Eric (Hyla) Reed and also many loving relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet on Wednesday, May 5, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service held at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA, 02114.
