Date of birth 06/23/1965
Date of passing 03/12/2025

MCCORDSVILLE – James D. Liddle, III, 59, of McCordsville, passed away on March 12, 2025.
Jim was born on June 23, 1965 to James D. Liddle, Jr. and Beverly J. Bishop in Indianapolis, IN. After Jim graduated from Warren Central High School in 1983, he attended Hobart Institute of Welding Technology and then joined the U.S. Navy in 1984, where he was a SeaBee.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jim began his career as a Welder, kickstarting his 27 years at Amtrak in Beech Grove, where he worked with his dad, Jim for several years before his retirement. He was very proud of his career with Amtrak and took pride in his welding work.

In 1987, Jim met Kim West at Kroger in Indy. After convincing her to go out on their first date, Jim knew Kim was his love and he never left, literally he moved in. They were married on May 14, 1988 and had their daughter, Sarah, Jim’s pride and joy, in July of 1989. Sarah gave him two grandchildren, Luke and Lilly who brought him immense happiness.

Jim loved his Harley Davidson and took numerous trips to Sturgis throughout the years. He enjoyed riding his Quad, hunting with his friends, and spending time at the West family cabin in Hamilton, Ohio. Between his silly jokes and his infectious laughter there wasn’t a kid that met Jim that didn’t think he was the best Uncle Jimmy ever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kim Liddle; his daughter Sarah Mattson; grandchildren Luke and Lilly; his parents, Jim Liddle, Jr. and Beverly Bishop; brothers, Kevin Liddle, Mike Liddle, Scott Hancock and sister Stephanie (Phil) Moran; countless other close family members including many nieces and nephews and an abundance of loving friends.

Please join us at the Beech Grove Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 712 Main Street, Beech Grove on March 23, 2025 from 12-5 p.m. to honor Jim, his amazing life, and man we all love.
