James Ellis Obituary
Our father passed away peacefully at home in Mission Viejo, on Sunday, August 20th. Jim was 98.Jim was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. He was one of 4 children born to Gertrude and James B. Ellis Sr. He attended Beaumont High School and graduated in 1942. He enlisted in the Navy shortly after graduation. As a Navy SeaBees he served in England in support of “D” Day and later in Guam prior to his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Jim saw service again in the Korean Conflict, from August 1951 to November 1952.Jim married Audrey Julia Patton, April 12, 1947, in Long Beach, California. Jim and Audrey had 5 boys; James III (who died at birth), Richard, Timothy, Patrick, and Michael. Jim worked for Proctor and Gamble, in Long Beach, CA and retired after 46 years. He and Audrey traveled extensively until she passed away on July 19, 2003. Jim is survived by his 4 sons; Rick, Tim (Cindy), Pat, and Mike, 6 grandchildren; Ricky, Ryan, Ian, Kristyn, MJ “Michael”, and Gavin; and 5 great grandchildren: Reed, Bailey, Wade, Colton, and Logan.Jim will be interned at Riverside National Cemetery on October 25, 2023, at 11:30 am.
