Mr. James A. Albarelli

TROY – James Arthur Albarelli, age 70, a longtime resident of Troy, died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of Theresa and Arthur Albarelli. He grew up on Brunswick Park Drive alongside his three siblings, Henry, Arthur and Sharon. James graduated from Tamarac High School and joined the United States Navy directly after graduation. In his service to our country, James was assigned to the U.S. Navy Seabees, where he served proudly for several years. After discharge from the Navy, James joined the workforce back home and became a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Brunswick Public Works. He later transitioned to becoming a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for West Central Environmental, where he worked for three decades until retirement. After retiring, James spent several years in Lighthouse Point, Fla., soaking in the sun and enjoying the ocean before eventually returning home to spend the twilight years of his life with his family in Troy. James was an experienced hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He was a proud veteran who cared deeply about veteran’s issues. James was active in the Wynantskill American Legion and held the position of Historian. He enjoyed spending his days with friends and family. Widely known for his sense of humor, James will be remembered for his incredible resolve, strength and perseverance in the face of any obstacle. He was an unstoppable force who was loved dearly by so many people. James is survived by his two children, James and David; his two grandchildren, Avery and Gabriel; and his siblings, parents, nieces, nephews, and friends. In place of flowers, the Albarelli family asks you to please support your local American Legion or Hospice organization. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., for all those who wish to pay their respects to the memory of James Albarelli.
