Jack Allen Muzik, 91 of Cottondale, passed from this life on September 1, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family and close friends.
Jack was born on December 13, 1932 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Francis and Elizabeth Muzik. He gallantly served his country in the United States Navy joining the forces at 18 years of age. He was a decorated Korean War veteran, serving with the Naval Construction Battalions (Seabees) attached to the 3rd Marine Division, which included receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star in combat. After his discharge from the Navy he went to work for General Motors, where he was a master journeyman and machinist with the UAW and retired after 30 + years. After retirement, Jack moved to Cottondale, Florida, in the Florida panhandle, where he lived out the rest of his life peacefully in a quite country setting. He was a beloved member of the Cottondale community, where he enjoyed helping the community with his mechanical and welding services with no expectations of payment, along with spending time visiting with neighbors and friends. He enjoyed hunting, training hunting dogs, gun shows, dancing, listening to big band and opera music, and watching the Three Stooges, 1950’s horror shows and spaghetti westerns. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Elizabeth Muzik; brother: Frank J. Muzik Jr. and wife Mary; and cousin: Susan Masino.
