J. Joseph Quinn, 86, of Coventry passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the devoted husband of Lois E. (Giles) Quinn of Coventry for 59 memorable years. This world become a brighter place on April 9, 1935 in Lake Placid, NY when J. Joseph Quinn was born the son to the late James and Clara (Bittel) Quinn.

Joe served in the US Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees) from 1955 to 1966 serving at multiple duty stations, being especially proud of serving in Antarctica. Upon honorably being discharged, Joe became an Iron Worker in the local union and eventually became a driver for several grocery distributors in the Teamsters Local 251. Always wanting to stay active in retirement, Joe took a job transporting patients and working security duties at Women and Infants Hospital until just a few years ago

Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His love will live on in his wife Lois Quinn of Coventry, RI, his son Jay Quinn of Coventry, RI, his daughter Terri Sullivan and her husband Michael of Coventry, RI, nine grandchildren who lovingly called him “Poppy”. They are Quinn Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Ryan Kelly Quinn, Catherine Sullivan, Jake Jules Quinn, Christine Sullivan, Devon Quinn, Michael Sullivan Jr., and Mary Lynn Sullivan. He was the brother of Gene Quinn of Syracuse, NY and the late John Quinn.
