Harold Wayne Kinnaird, age 85, passed away in his sleep on Saturday May 3, 2025 in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he had resided for the past seventeen years. Harold is survived by wife Barbara, sons Wade, Troy, and Jason, granddaughters Ashley (Mitch) Barlow and Sarah Kinnaird, sister Shirley Tolliver, nieces Lisa and Tricia, and nephews Tony and Mark. He was preceded in death by father Harry Bradley Kinnaird, mother Goldie Kinnaird Byington, brother Vernon Kinnaird, niece Angie Kinnaird, and nephew Jeff Tolliver.

Harold was born and raised in Kingsport, TN and graduated from Ketron High School. He is a retired veteran, having served for 8 years in the US Air Force on active duty and then later serving in the US Naval Reserve as a Seabee (Construction Battalion) for over 14 years. During his time as a Seabee, he was involved in several projects to improve public spaces on Roan Mountain and around the Tri Cities. Harold was employed by Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN beginning in 1967, retiring after 30 years. He later was employed by Magic Wand Car Wash Equipment Company in Bristol, VA for 12 years, building the machines and then delivering them all across the United States.

The family will receive friends at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Boulevard, Knoxville, TN 37932, on Saturday May 17, starting at 2:00 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, there will be a military honor guard presentation. Harold will be interred during a private ceremony at a later date in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at John Sevier. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Harold’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
