Final Salute

Harry C. Echard, 73, of Connellsville, died Friday, March 11, 2022, in Excela Health Frick Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Connellsville, a son of the late Harrold and Helen Stillwagon Echard. Harry was a 1967 graduate of Connellsville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving with the Seabee’s and serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was formerly employed at the U.S. Steel Irvin Works. He was a member of the Greenwood Heights Church of God. Harry is survived by his daughter, Cherie Fort of Connellsville; twin grandsons, Ryan and Josh; his brother, Harold “Bob” Echard and Julie of Connellsville; two sisters, Linda Hughes and her husband Jonah of Connellsville and Evelyn Echard of Connellsville; brother and sister-in-law, Elaine and Larry Heckman of Greensburg; two aunts, Zola and Genevieve Stillwagon of Connellsville; one nephew and two nieces, Sarah Fike and her husband Jeff, Chad Echard and Miranda Frady and her husband James and his pet cats, Lightening and Lucky. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Audrey Myers Echard. Family and friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Norman Walk officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
