Mr. Harold Roy Geelhoed

Harold Roy Geelhoed, age 95, went to be with his Lord in glory on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He is now reunited with his wife of 64 years, Dena, his granddaughter, Ashley Geelhoed, and many family members and friends who preceded him in death. Harold proudly served as a U.S. Navy Seabee for four years. For a time, he owned a used auto sales company called Harry’s Auto Sales on Division Avenue and later owned and operated Geelhoed Brothers Excavating. He enjoyed raising his family, being a 55 year member of Brookside CRC, and spending time boating and fishing. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his children, Douglas Geelhoed, Ronald (Kimberly) Geelhoed, Thomas (Linda) Geelhoed, James (Melissa) Geelhoed, Jerald Geelhoed; his grandchildren, Deanna Geelhoed, Austin (Maria) Geelhoed, Jessica Geelhoed, Emily (Steve) Eikenhout, Matthew Geelhoed, Cyndee (Greg) Van Der Heide, Sarah (Nick) Truax, Scott (Emily) Geelhoed, Connor Geelhoed, Evan Geelhoed, Johanna Geelhoed; his great-grandchildren, Amma, Genevieve, Hazel, Avery, Bennett, Mabel, Kenley, Alexis, Rohnan, Levi, Liam, Evelyn; his sisters, Marcene Vriesenga, Joan (Denny) Cool; his sisters-in-law, Betty Diemer, Shirley Diemer, Linda Diemer; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, March 15, from 4 – 6 PM at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service for Harold will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 16, at Brookside Christian Reformed Church, 3600 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with his pastor, Rev. Paul DeVries, and his grandson, Pastor Austin Geelhoed, officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 10 – 10:45 AM at church. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Light or Mel Trotter Ministries.
