Harold Douglas Griffin, age 80, of Chelsea, Alabama, passed away on February 2, 2026.
He was born on February 20, 1945, in Shannon, Alabama, to parents Charles and Pauline Griffin. Harold loved traveling. When he was not planning where he wanted to go next, he was reading books that could let him explore new places and people. He was a man of action, known for staying busy on projects such as building, ironworking, or tending his property on the tractor. A graduate of Vincent High School, he joined the Navy to become a Seabee after finding his talent for ironworking through trade school classes. A Vietnam veteran, Harold was known for his boldness and fearless attitude.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lydia Pauline Moore and Charles Lupton Griffin; brothers Jackie, Roland, Denny, Fred, and Ray Griffin; sister Mary Griffin.
His memory lives on through his wife, Mickey Minor Griffin; daughters, Sheena Griffin Burke (Ryan) and Lacey Griffin Byers (Brian); brother Paul Griffin (Cecilia); sisters Josie Chamblee (Jim); and many cousins and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on his 81st birthday, February 20, 2026 at Redemption Church in Chelsea. Visitation will be at 1pm with service to follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Redemption Church at K-Springs, 4176 Hwy 39, Chelsea, Alabama 35043.
