Greenland, NH – In loving memory of George William Rosedoff, a cherished father, devoted husband, and proud Navy veteran. George passed away peacefully Thursday, February 1st 2024 at the age of 86. His legacy is marked by a life well-lived, filled with kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends.
George was the only son of parents Theodore Rosedoff and Lauretta Charron. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rena (Rosedoff) Wyatt. George is survived by his loving spouse, Sylvia (Roy) Rosedoff, three adoring children, Sheryl Bergman (Ellen), Stephen Rosedoff (Ann Marie – girlfriend) David Rosedoff (Amanda), two cherished grandchildren, Justin Bergman (Emily) and Reese Mayes, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His impact on their lives and the memories they shared will forever be treasured.
George was a graduate of Nashua High School (Class of 1955) and married his High School sweetheart in 1956. George was in the USN from 1955 to 1959 as a Seabee in Guam. He learned how to build and came home to eventually build his wife her dream home, including furniture.
After the Navy, George became a Granite Draftsman Engineer as well as an auctioneer and a member of the NH Auctioneers Association. He was the President of the Antiques Study Club. Following his retirement, you could always find George with a newspaper in his hand and enjoyed taking his wife out to dinner at new restaurants. George was well traveled, and had driven the entire country, and visited several countries.
George loved fishing and hunting, baseball and football. He was a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was also good at landscaping and always enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events. George touched the lives of many with his humor, personality and intellect. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road, Newmarket between 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name may be sent to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society at nmcrs.org.
