Mr. George Arlan Fletcher

George Arlan Fletcher, age 84, of Clinton, MI, passed away, January 12, 2025 at Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Health System. He was born March 30, 1940, in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of George Franklin and Bertha Jane (Smith) Fletcher.

On October 7, 1966, he married Pamela J. Byington in Tecumseh, MI. She survives.

Arlan was a resident of the Clinton, MI area since 1966, coming from Oregon.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Seabee

(Naval Construction Battalion). Arlan was a heavy equipment operator all of his working life, and at the end of his career owned his own equipment and was in business for himself.

In addition to his wife Pam, he is survived by four children, Sheila (Dan) Byrd of Oregon, Norm Martindale of Oregon, Jeff (Rose) Fletcher of Clinton, MI, and Debbie (Ken) Waters of Onsted, MI; six grandchildren, Randy DeMain, Leah (Zach) Carpenter, Sam (Adrienne) Waters, Markie Martindale, Ben (Audrey) Waters, and Makayla Fletcher; and 5 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place, Saturday, February 1, 2025 from

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan.

Military Honors by Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 in honor of Arlan will also take place beginning at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery, Clinton, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI or

Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
