Mr. Gary William Davis, 71, of the Ladds Community, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 19, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Gary was born on October 14, 1953, to the late William M. “Bill” and Nylice Davis.
He was a graduate of Marion County High School Class of 1972. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served as a Seabee. He was an iron worker and a member of local 704. He was a 50-year member of Olive Branch Lodge # 297 F&AM, a member of Alhambra Shrine, and the Sequatchie Valley Shrine Club.
Gary was a very talented man. He was a gifted singer, guitar player, gardener, and builder. There truly wasn’t anything he couldn’t accomplish. By far his best qualities were being a devoted and loving husband and the best daddy a son could ever have. He will be remembered for many things, but his incredible sense of humor and quick wit was at the top of the list. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Gail Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Piper-Davis; son, William M. “Bumper” Davis and his wife Rachel; Aunt Gloria and Uncle David Poore, and cousin, Diahana Pippenger and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 (CST).
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
