Jake Stineman, 72, of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his home in Winfield.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Fulton Cemetery in Marshall Township or the American Legion Post 112 in Morning Sun.

Gary Gene Stineman was born on August 23, 1947, in Portland, OR the son of Donald and Marie (Petriken) Stineman.
He graduated from Wapello High School in 1965. Jake proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He enlisted with the United States Navy and served honorably with the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion #62 (known as the Seabees) through two tours of duty in Phu Bai and Danang, Vietnam.
Jake was united in marriage to Candace Baird on September 24, 1966 in Cassopolis, MI. The couple returned to Iowa in May of 1976.
Jake was a carpenter by trade and worked on many houses over the years. He was a member of the VFW Post 5166 in Wapello and the American Legion Post 112 in Morning Sun. Jake enjoyed woodworking, bird hunting, taking his grandchildren fishing and shooting, collecting guns, reading history books, German shorthair pointers, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Jake will be deeply missed by his wife, Candy of Winfield; sons, Brent (Ann) Stineman of Chaska, MN, Bill (Jill) of Victoria, MN and Nick (Kiley) Stineman of Cedar Rapids, IA grandchildren, Bree, Cole, Luke, Kate, Peyton, Jake and foster grandson Donovan Sackey; siblings, Holly and Kenneth, both of Wapello and Bob of Burlington.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dona.
