Gary A. Shorter, 77, a Vietnam Veteran of Ridley Park, P.A., a dedicated worker and loving husband, father, and grandfather, died on Saturday, November 4th at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA surrounded by family.

Born in Ridley Park, PA, he was the son of the late George A. Shorter and Mildred M. (Lance) Shorter White.

He graduated from Interboro High School in 1964 and Williamson College of the Trades in 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees (Naval Construction Force, Vietnam era) from 1967-1973. He owned his own construction company (Shorter Construction) and worked as a construction superintendent and manager for 40+ years, contributing to a multitude of large-scale builds prior to retirement.

Gary was an avid lover of motorcycles, building/construction, the Constitution and American freedoms, U.S. history, and his grandchildren and family.

He was the beloved husband of his wife, Patricia A. (Diamond) Shorter; devoted father to six children (Gary A. Shorter II [Tracey], Amanda J. Cranford, Jennifer M. Ford, John J. Ford [Linda], Rebecca L. Shorter, and Andrew J. Shorter [Nina]); and adoring grandfather to 18 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: Lance A. Shorter, John W. Shorter, and George L. Shorter.

Friends and family are invited to his Viewing 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am at D’Anjolell-Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road, Aston, PA, 19014. Int. private.
