He enlisted in the Marines at the young age of 17 where he spent 2 years of service and did a tour in Vietnam. He then spent 2 years in the Marine reserves. He went on to serve 2 years in the Navy as a Navy Seabee. He loved spending time on his motorcycle up in the mountains exploring, spending the 4th of July with the kids and grandkids setting off fireworks, as well as watching the grandkids open gifts on Christmas. He was very much a gun enthusiast and loved to teach his kids, grandkids, and anyone interested in how to shoot guns. He loved to take his kids and grandkids fishing. You would always find him out tinkering in his shop and if a project needed to be done or a car needed worked on, he was always the first to volunteer to help and show up. On Sunday afternoons his time was dedicated to watching his favorite sport, NASCAR. He had a wicked sense of humor and loved to see people laugh. He was very witty and always had a funny comeback for everything.
